The Jasper High School Cross Country team ran its second meet of the year. They competed at the Randolph Classic hosted on the UAH campus Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings were faced with a tough course which consisted of running through several mud pits. They really responded well, and gained valuable experience as they battled through adversity.
Both varsity teams made great strides in lowering their personal times. Ethan Morgan (6th place) was the highest overall finisher for the junior varsity boys. Alex Glass, Eli Morgan, and a host of others helped with an impressive 4th place finish in a field of 206 boys.
The JV girls team was paced by Maci Beaty, Riley Aldridge, and Allie Bull. The Vikes continue their season this Saturday at Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa. They will compete in the TCBY Invitational, which will be great practice as it is the same course as sectionals which will be held in November. Go Vikes!
