Multiple Teams · Rams Spoil Homecoming

A parade strolled through downtown Jasper today. A Homecoming Queen was name. The only thing the Viking faithful were waiting on to make it a great day was a football win on a perfect homecoming night. The latter was not to be in the cards tonight at Ki-Ro Gambrell Field as the Vikings fall to an athletic Carver Birmingham tonight.

After trading punts on the first possession of the game, the Carver offense aided by a huge 4th & 14 QB scramble conversion, finished with 2 yard Touchdown run by Quarterck Chappell Wade. The Viking fans were not aware of it at the time, but with 1:42 left in the 1st Quarter, that score would be enough to win it as Carver spoils the Viking Homecoming tonight 34-0.

A tight game throughout the first half, Carver added another score as Wade reversed field after rolling right to go in untouched from 12 yards out with thirty-five seconds left in the first half.

Midway throught the 3rd Quarter, Viking QB 1, Ethan Walker went out with an apparent injury, and from that point on, it was all Rams as they scored twice on defense returning a interception and a fumble recovery both for touchdowns.

In a game that saw some spectacular individual plays, we just never could seem to get off of the field on 3rd down, and the offense had trouble converting on third down.

The Vikings will travel to play Minor on Thursday at 7:00 in Adamsville, and will finished the regular season the following Thursday at home against Dora. Make plans to come out and support Viking football.
