Multiple Teams · Jasper Track and Field Picking Up Speed

Following a slow start after returning from spring break the Jasper Vikings Track and Field team found another gear this past Tuesday at Corner High Schools 3rd Invitational of the year. As a team  it was the Vikings best showing of the year for both the men and women. Overall the women finished 3rd out of 19 teams participating at the meet with the men finishing 6th out of 19. There were also many individuals and relay teams that had either a season best or set a new personal record, below are individuals that scored points during Tuesday’s meets.


100m dash – Jurni Cummings 1st Place,  Alex Oliver 6th Place 13.52 PR

200m dash – Jurni Cummings 2nd Place 26.72 PR

400m dash – Jurni Cummings 2nd Place 1:02 Season Best

800m run – Carlee Muncher 6th place, Maci Beaty 7th 2:47 PR

1600m run – Maci Beaty 5th Place 6:17 PR, Allie Bull 6th Place 6:18 PR, Anna Mobley 7th Place

4x400m relay – Carlee Muncher, Mckenna Lewis, Alex Oliver, Jurni Cummings 4th Place 4:36 Season Best

The Vikings have two meets left before sectionals and look to keep the momentum going as they travel north to compete at Athens High School Invitational Monday April 16th.
