Vikings News · Jordan Gilbert Is Signed….. Lawson State Community College

Jordan Gilbert becomes the 2nd volleyball player and the third student athlete to sign a National Letter of Intent in the Class of 2020 at Jasper High School. Jordan will complete her next two years of education and volleyball career at Lawson State Community College.

Jordan is excited to be a part of the Cougar Volleyball program, and looks to help add to the success that the team is already seeing as the runner up in their conference this season. While in Birmingham, Jordan plans to begin her education in Communications while pulling double duty as a Middle for Coach Wiley and Coach Gill.

Lawson just felt like the right fit for Jordan, and she chose the Cougars over multiple in-state and out-of-state offers. “They just made everything seem like a family. The team was close and welcomed me in; it just felt right. I like that they are trying to move forward with their program, and I want to be a part of it. The volleyball facility stood out to me, and I felt a special bond with the coaching staff”.

Jordan would like to thank her parents for “supporting me, and helping me through all of my hard times”. She also added that she “would like to thank my teammates and coaches, and Lawson State for giving me this opportunity”.
