Temperance Chatman, the Senior Setter for the Jasper Viking Volleyball Team will play her next set in a Wallace State Community College uniform. The three time All-State performer made it official after inking with the Lions today in front of her friends, family, teammates, and coaches at Jasper High School.
Chatman looks to play Libero for Coach Randy Daniel and the perennial national power Lion Volleyball team. She will begin to study her prerequisites in Hanceville, but looks to Major in physical therapy. Her career goals are as follows: “graduate from wallace and transfer to a university to finish undergrad & finalize my volleyball career. I plan attend grad school to obtain my doctorate, and follow wherever God leads me next“.
As he stood and talked about Temperance at today’s signing, Viking Head Volleyball Coach Bobby Daniels strung adjectives together to sum up what Temperance Chatman meant to the Jasper Volleyball program over the past four years. As he spoke, he did not speak of points, wins, losses, aces, or championships. He talked of character, impact on others, and leadership. You see, these are the things that people remember. These are the qualities that leave a lasting legacy. The legacy of someone that would do “whatever it took”, a five-foot nothing player that Coach Daniels referred to as “inch-by-inch the best player I’ve ever seen”. These are the things “T” left behind when she hung up her black and gold V-Time Jersey.
We know that if she approaches her life with the same approach that she hit the floor with in her four years as a Viking that the sky is the limit for her. We could not be more excited for a student athlete as we are for Temperance. A quick message to the folks at Wallace State…. You are getting our very best.
Congrats “T”, I know there was a signing party today in heaven. Well done kiddo, I know your mama is proud!
